History

1984 Ken Sadamatsu arrives in Australia on a working holiday.
He works as a waiter at The Sushi House, a Japanese restaurant.
He also works as a Continental cuisine chef at Hyatt Hotel.
1987 Ken opens a curry restaurant in Glebe.
1992 Ken closes down the curry restaurant.
1993 Masuya restaurant opens in Sydney CBD.
1994 A branch named Casual Restaurant Masuya opens in Pyrmont.
1999 Sushi Bar Makoto City opens.
A central kitchen that supplies all our branches opens in Pyrmont.
2002 Dining Bar Musashi opens in the south of Sydney CBD. Approx AU$1 million was invested in its opening.
2003 Casual Restaurant Masuya closes down because of a transfer of business.
2004 Sushi Bar Makoto Chatswood opens. Approx AU$2 million was invested in its opening.
2007 Full redecoration of Masuya restaurant. Approx AU$0.75million was invested in its redecoration.
2008 Miso, the teishoku restaurant opens in the heart of the Sydney CBD in March. Approx AU$0.55 was invested in its opening.
